Woman Who Sued Old Saybrook, Rescuers Setttles For $870,000
OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (AP)- A woman whose family sued Old Saybrook
and her rescuers after the sport utility vehicle she was riding in
plunged into a river has settled the suit for $870,000.
The lawyer for Barbara Connors says there will be no other
information released about the case.
Connors, who was 75 at the time, was the passenger in a SUV
driven by her son-in-law that crashed through a chain link fence
into the Connecticut River on Oct. 14, 2004.
The lawsuit suit says Connors suffered brain injuries from being
underwater for nearly 30 minutes before police and firefighters
eventually extricated her.
Connors' daughter says her mother lives in a nursing home in
Waterford where she suffers from dementia.
