Clinton Mother Sues For Son's Arrest For Shocking Camera
May 8, 2008, 10:21 AM EDT

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP)- The mother of a high school student in Clinton has filed a federal lawsuit against the officer who arrested her son for using a camera rigged to give an electric shock.

Christian Haughwout, a ninth grader at The Morgan School, was arrested last month after some students were apparently willingly given shocks.

In juvenile court, he faces charges of possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds, attempted assault and breach of peace.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in New Haven federal court, accuses Officer Kyle Strunjo of false arrest.

A previous federal lawsuit filed by the boy's parents was withdrawn after Christian's suspension was reduced to five days the discipline is being erased from his school record.
