Doctors will have to make heart-wrenching decisions if we have flu pandemic to try and ease the burden if we ever had to deal with such a major health disaster.
A task force of physicians drafted a few guidelines. The guidelines listed patients who should not be treated.
That includes the very old, seriously hurt trauma victims, severely burned patients and those with severe dementia.
They say it's a way to make sure that scarce resources are used in the best way possible.
Children in the u-s take anti-psychotic meds... at about six times more than kids in the u-k do. That's according to a new study done in Great Britain. And experts say it actually shows the use of such drugs is increasing on both sides of the Atlantic.
Among the most commonly used drugs, were those to treat autism and hyperactivity?
In 1992, the drugs were prescribed to about 4 in every 10-thousand kids in the UK.
By 2005, that number was up to 7 in 10-thousand.
Here in the US the number is 45 in 10-thousand.
There are a ton of books out there to help guide pregnant women through every day of their nine months. Anyone who wants to can know what to expect just about every moment.
But, when it comes to what to expect after the baby gets here.
A new study shows nearly a third of all parents know very little.
Researchers say about 31-percent of the 10-thousand parents they surveyed didn't know much about typical infant development, such as what milestones their babies should hit and when.
For example many parents didn't know that at the age of one babies still should not be expected to know the difference between right and wrong or expected to be potty trained.
Tens of thousands of teenagers with Type One Diabetes use insulin pumps.
But this morning, the FDA is warning parents about the possible dangers. Regulators found, they've been linked to thousands of injuries and more than a dozen deaths.
The pumps allow young people to live more normal lives since it gives insulin doses without the child having to go through daily injections.
But, the pump can get blocked, and if their blood sugar level is not monitored that can cause huge problems.
