CROMWELL, Conn. ( AP)- Cromwell police are investigating the
abandonment of 30 cats in a parking lot.
Police say 30 cats and kittens were found abandoned, hungry and
thirsty and covered in their own their own feces, in a parking lot
off Route 372 Tuesday morning.
The animals, three adult cats and 27 kittens ranging in age from
three weeks to four months, were found by a passerby.
Cromwell Animal Control Officer Cheryl Gagnon says the animals
were inside three pet carriers. She says there were three crates.
Gagnon brought them to the shared animal shelter in Portland.
Gagnon says a preliminary examination by a veterinarian found no
obvious signs of abuse.
