Sam Sampieri
Sam Sampieri
Sam, a Connecticut native, grew up in Southbury, Conn. on a small horse farm. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and was always intrigued about the causes of our fast-changing weather here in Southern New England.

He's been an Environmental Scientist/Meteorologist for more than 16 years and and a part-time radio broadcast meteorologist since 1998. His weather reports can be heard on several CBS radio stations: WTIC-AM, WTIC-FM, WRCH, WZMX and he's also on WZBG.

Sam says he always wanted to be a weather man. His TV career started in 2005 at CBS 3 in Springfield, Mass. where he was the meteorologist until June 2006. In July 2007, Sam made his first on-air appearence on the Fox 61 News at Ten and he's "been here ever since."

As the "go to guy on the bench," Sam fills in for both the Fox 61 News at Ten and Fox 61 Morning News when needed. In addition, he's a weather producer for the Fox 61 Morning News.

In 2008, Sam was hired by the State Department of Environmental Protection as an air quality seasonal forecast meteorologist predicting our air quality for OZONE and PM2.5.

Sam received a BS degree Earth Science-Meteorology in 1987.
