Emmy Award-winning Reporter Jim Altman has come to Fox 61 after some memorable stops along the way.

During the '90s he gathered experience working at the networks in New York. He began his career at NBC as a member of the prestigious NBC Page Program, where he was able to observe and work in different areas of the network including NBC Sports, WNBC News, Saturday Night Live, and Late Night With David Letterman.

After 2 years at NBC, Jim switched networks and joined the ABC newsmagazine "Day One" and then moved to "20/20" where he traveled the country working with some of ABC's most well known reporters. While at 20/20, Jim worked on numerous high profile stories.

Among his 20/20 national production credits, was an expose on violence in youth sports.

The on-camera bug bit him in 2000 and Jim landed his first full time on-air job at WAMI-TV, Miami as a reporter for the critically-acclaimed South Beach News Magazine "The Times." When WAMI-TV was sold to a Spanish language network in 2001, "The Times" was cancelled. Jim quickly found himself tapped as the host for the "Mervyn's Beach Bash" a nationally-televised extreme sports program shot in Los Angeles.

In 2002, Jim joined WSYX-TV (ABC/FOX) in Columbus, Ohio where he covered the Ohio State Buckeyes championship season and kept on the trail of President Bush in the pivotal Ohio election. In less than three years in Columbus, Jim won 4 Emmys for News Reporting.

At the 2005 Midwest Regional Emmy Awards, Jim took home the Emmy for "Best Feature Reporter." In 2005, Jim joined the Fox 61 News at Ten and won the 2006 New England Emmy Award for Feature News Reporting. In 2007, Jim won 3 Emmys: Health and Science Reporting, Sports News Reporting, and Overall News Writing.

Raised in Washington, D.C. and New York City, Jim is a graduate of Syracuse University and remains an avid "Orangemen" Fan.
