It could be the Outback, the desert or the jungle. It's not West Africa, it's East Haddam and off-road driving teacher, Bruce Elfstrom of Overland Experts' is putting people on a serious roll: a 4-mile, 40-acre off-road training course.
If you have the drive, he'll give you a vehicle and some direction.
Out here there is no AAA, everything's done with high energy and low gear. On the course you rarely make it over 10 mph.
Here, you learn the 'road rules' on and off. And, it's about the most fun you can have at 8 miles an hour.
Driving School 1 teaches people the how drive their 4WD "vehicles efficiently and safely" and is offered at the custom-designed course in Hadlyme. You may drive a vehicle from their fleet of Land Rovers or Landcruisers, or use your own vehicle if it meets their safety review.
Driving School 2 is an advanced course offered for drivers who want to make the most of their 4WD vehicles. It's offered as a 1-day or 2-day course.
