Farmington River Tubing

Rollin' on a River

If you're looking for a lazy way to spend a day - if you want to get some sun and love to be on the water - the Farmington River is a good bet! Along route 44, at the entrance of Satan's Kingdom is where you can pick up your tube. After that, it's an easy 2 hour float (depending on how fast the water's moving) down the river.

It's a nice nature experience - with just a few rapids and enough big rocks to make it interesting. It's been a popular tubing venue for at least a quarter of a century. The river is clear and really refreshing! Don't worry about the tubes... they have a stockpile of around 700.

Important Info:
Tubing is for swimmers only. Everyone must be at least 10 years old, at least 4 feet 5 inches tall, and must be able to swim. Suggested attire is: a bathing suit and shorts, a long sleeved light T-shirt, or socks with the ends cut off to slip over your arms (this prevents chafing on your arms from rubbing on the tube), and something to protect your feet (old sneakers, Tevas, water shoes, or wet suit boots work great. Don't wear heavy boots or sandals that may slip off.)

Leave all unnecessary items that you don't want to lose, at home. (eyeglasses, watches, rings, favorite hats, and jewelry are commonly lost during tubing.) COST: Weekends and Holidays, $20 per person. Weekdays, $18 per person for both adults and children. This gets you a life jacket, tube and bus ride back to the starting point!

Hours: Open 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 7 days a week, Memorial Day through mid-September. parking lot.
