Natural Bridge State Park
Masterfully crafted by Mother Nature herself
Ted Greenberg,
NORTH ADAMS, MA —
Bridges bring us from one place to another and there are many all over New England.
Highway bridges, drawbridges, even covered bridges: man made them all. But have you ever seen a span created by nature?
In the town of North Adams, Massachusetts lies a state park loaded with marble that's been molded by the movements of the earth.
Natural Bridge State Park is a record of natural events that began over 500 million years ago. The park's natural marble bridge is unique in North America. It is not only a visual delight but also a key to understanding our planet's complex evolution.
A portion of this summary was extracted from Natural Bridge State Park promotional literature.
