East Haddam —
For two years, this unique landmark was shut down, as many hands worked dilligently. Now, eleven million dollars later, Gillette Castle is open again to the public, looking better than ever!
Masons reinforced stone and weavers re-created old fashioned wall mats, to return the fanciful home to it's original condition.
Actor William Gillette, known for the character Sherlock Holmes, retired on the estate which boasts an incredible view of the river. The castle is truly a gem...Connecticut's version of royalty!
