"Behind-the-Scenes Tour"
Go where you've never gone before during the Mystic Aquarium's "Behind-the-Scenes Tour!"Sure, you've been to the Aquarium before, but you've never strolled through the "Staff Only" doors!
The tour will be a little bit different everyday, but you might find out how the employees feed Octavius the Octupus without letting "the escape artist" out of his tank. You could see the Beluga Whale's toys and get a sense of the HUGE amount of food they eat each day. You also might get an aerial view of the Coral Reef Exhibit, filled with Angel Fish and Green Moray Eels. As the Aquarium's Vice President of Programs says, "This is a great opportunity to do more than peek!"

Directions from Hartford/Springfield:
Take Interstate 91 south to Rte. 9 South, then to Interstate 95 north to exit 90 and follow the signs to Mystic Aquarium. Travel time is approximately 1.5 hours
(approx. 47 miles).
Directions from South:
Take the New England Thruway north, which is Interstate 95 to exit 90 and follow the signs to Mystic Aquarium. Travel time is approximately 2.5 hours
(approx. 127 miles).
