Dinosaur State Park
See the relics of Connecticut's pre-human history
Can you believe dinosaurs once roamed in Rocky Hill? Go back in time to "The Lost World" at Dinosaur State Park, where more than five hundred prints are preserved. Dinosaur State Park offers a unique journey back in time, when Connecticut was a very different place; in fact, dinosaurs roamed in Rocky Hill when the weather was sub-tropical and the landscape was volcanic. You can see more than 500 Dinosaur prints that were uncovered in 1966. The park includes educational displays and dioramas about the Jurassic era. Bring along ten pounds of plaster of paris, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil and a roll of paper towels and you can make a dinosaur print impression to bring home with you!
