School: Shepaug Valley Middle School
Town: Washington
Slug: "Live at Shepaug"
Status: Broadcast
Length: 50

DELIVERY: Ok. The stand up was a bit long. Shortening it might make for a more confident delivery.

INTERVIEWS: Interviews should be added to support the story. Sound bites from the interview are a great way to answer how or why and add emotion to a story. An interview with a student talking about the pressure they are under to get this together in only one day, or an interview with an organizer talking about the great things that are supported by the funds raised would have been good.

ORIGINALITY: Good story choice.

WRITING: There needs to be more writing to support the story. What is the focus of the story? Is it that getting the event set up, held and taken down in one day is a great accomplishment? If so why is it such a big deal? Is the spaced used for something important the rest of time? The idea of the open was clever but it is difficult to illustrate.

VIDEO: Good mix of shots. Nice job shooting a lot of B-roll.

AUDIO: Good levels. Good idea to use natural sound but be selective. The natural sound used was just background noise and didn't seem to serve a purpose. The sound of a nail being hammered in or a staple gun would have been a great compliment to video showing that.

EDITING: There needed to be more writing to be able to properly edit the video to the script.

OVERALL: You need to work on the writing. Find a focus and then write to it by answering who, what, why, when, where and how. Add interviews to support the story.
