DELIVERY: A little rushed. Great composure on the stand up shot. Great camera movement. Great job dressing up for your stand up. Very professional.

INTERVIEWS: Good job. Nice lifts and good sources. Good angles.

ORIGINALITY: Really interesting.

WRITING: Very good. It would have been stronger if you mention that this is a wide spread practice before talking about the ban. People that don't know a lot about sports wouldn't now that. You need to tell us what school that first coach was from. It wasn't mentioned in his introduction.

VIDEO: Great work!

AUDIO: Good levels. Nice use of natural sound. Good mix.

EDITING: Starting with the basketball and natural sound was a great way to introduce the story.

OVERALL: Very good.

School: Manchester High School
Town: Manchester
Slug: Mom's Club of Manchester
Status: Broadcast
Length: 49.88

VIDEO: Very good shots. Nice variety of shots of the children and moms doing different activities. Always use a tripod. Some of the shots were shaky which looks unprofessional.

AUDIO: The ambient sound was great, but it was just a bit too loud though. At times it was fighting with your voice over. The first background noise on the first interview was too loud. It made it hard to hear her.

EDITING: Great flow throughout. Nice job interweaving your interviews. The writing matched up very nicely with the video.

OVERALL: Great job overall. Is this a new club? How long have they been in Manchester?

INTERVIEWS: Good.

ORIGINALITY: Good

WRITING: Good job covering the facts and writing into your sound bites.

AUDIO: Good

EDITING: See video note. Nice job setting up your interview visually.

ORIGINALITY: Good, timely issue.

AUDIO: Good consistent levels.

Date:7/3/03
School: Manchester High School
Town: Manchester
Slug: "West Nile Virus Hits Ct."
Status: Re-submit
Length: :49

DELIVERY: Good delivery and stand-up.

INTERVIEWS: Good. Suggestions: a representative from the CT Dept. of Health. – website: http://www.dph.state.ct.us/

ORIGINALITY: Good topic and timely for this summer. This will need to be refined as a broad overview of "West Nile Virus in CT." instead of Hit's Ct. The Fox 61 & WB 20 Student News stories run throughout the year.

WRITING: Good job covering the facts of your premise.

VIDEO: More b-roll is needed without on-screen supers. The upper and lower suppers will be covered by the Fox 61 wrappers. Suggestions: images of free standing water, parks, etc. Try to match your images to your script.

AUDIO: Good consistent levels.

EDITING: See video notes.

OVERALL: This is an interesting concept to air in the coming months. The script will need to be reworked to reflect the overall issue. The student news stories are aired in a rotation of 8 airings throughout the year, by placing your story just in the fall it is already outdated for airing this summer.
