DELIVERY (How is the voice used to tell the story [pitch, tone, diction]): Nice job on your stand-up.

INTERVIEWS (Sound bites interesting and did they enhance the story?): Good interview choices. Please don't cut an sound bite in mid sentence.

ORIGINALITY (Story creative, unique, statewide appeal?): What makes the program unique to Connecticut. This is a question you will want to ask yourself when researching your story ideas.

WRITING (Report written clearly, creatively, & grammatically correct?): Good job covering the facts and introducing your interviews.

VIDEO (Pix illustrated the story? Tri-pod used, lighting, composition?): Good job getting images to match your script. Remember when shooting your interviewees and your stand-up to include 'talk space'. Also, more close-up and medium shots will help when you are editing the piece together.

AUDIO (Clarity, natural sound, enhance the story?): Good consistent levels.

EDITING(Pictures and sound used in the proper sequence to tell a story? Pictures match the script?): Good job matching your images and your script.

OVERALL(All the elements used to tell an interesting story for the viewer?):

DELIVERY: Good delivery. On your stand-up, please don't walk into frame. Also, bring your shot in to a medium/close-up. There is no need for the amount of head room you currently have. Also, please don't say "as you can see…", just wrap up with something like "it's a special program to the community that touches ___?___# of children a day"

INTERVIEWS: Good interview subjects and sound bites used.

ORIGINALITY: Interesting story with community appeal.

WRITING: Good job covering the facts.

VIDEO: Good medium and wide shots. Remember to get plenty of close-ups, this will help with your editing.

AUDIO: good EDITING: Try to match the images with the script. IE: you are mentioning computers, we are seeing swimming, etc. Also, there should Not be a space between your ending voice-over and your stand-up. There is a good second where nothing is happening on screen.

DELIVERY: Good job.

INTERVIEWS: Good interview choices. The second interview bite is too low – we can't hear what they are saying.

ORIGINALITY: Good

WRITING: Good. Suggestion, see page 12 on suggestions on how to write into and out of your sound bites.

VIDEO: Good b-roll to support your script. Be careful shooting indoors with low light. Your dance sequence is very dark.

AUDIO: See interview notes. The consistency should be level across the voice-over and all the sound bites.

EDITING: Good job matching the images with your script.

OVERALL: The story needs to be exactly :50 seconds from the beginning of the voice-over to the end of the stand-up with an additional :5 - :10 second pad at BOTH ends of the story. The pad has images with nat sound. If you let your opening shot run for a few extra seconds this will suffice for your opening pad.
