East Hartford High School
Date posted: January 14, 2004
School: East Hartford High School
Town: East Hartford
Slug: Toys for Tots
Status: Broadcast
Length: :50

DELIVERY: Try to slow down in your delivery. Currently, your voice-over is read very fast. Nice job placing your stand-up in the midst of your story. Because Student News Stories are evergreen (ie: will play over a long period of time) try not to peg yourself with a timing issue; ie: sometime soon there will be some happy kids… This will play after Christmas!

INTERVIEWS: Good

ORIGINALITY: Good

WRITING: Good

VIDEO: Nice job going back and getting additional footage!

AUDIO: Please don't hold to close to your face, this will add to the static on your audio track. In regards to the static on the audio; also double check you camera cable, the cable and/or connector to the camera may be bad. These have a limited life span and need to be checked periodically.

EDITING: Good

Evaluations for 2002-2003

Date: 7/2/03
School: East Hartford High School
Town: East Hartford
Slug: "Rage Team 173 – Lending a Hand with Toys for Tots"
Status: Re-submit
Length: :50

DELIVERY: Slow down in your delivery for the voice-over. As it stands, it is very difficult to understand because of the speed.

INTERVIEWS: The sound bite shouldn't be used as a thank you, but to add information and move the story forward. Do you have a sound bite from the officer which tells more about the program itself.

ORIGINALITY: Good

WRITING: Nice job with the script. Creative opening and good job writing into the sound bite.

VIDEO: Currently, most of your shots are wide or medium shots, more close-ups would help with the editing process. Your SIG-out, (stand-up) at the end is too dark. By the time we dub this down one more time to air it will be completely black. Try to stay away from night shoots unless you have specialty lighting.

OVERALL: Please see video – the SIG-out will need to be redone before we can air.
