DELIVERY: Needed more energy. Delivery was a bit monotone.
INTERVIEWS: The story would have benefited from an interview from a player and/or a spectator. The sound bite did not add to the story.
ORIGINALITY: If this is the high school hockey team for all three schools then this is an interesting story, but that is never clearly defined.
WRITING: There were a lot of unanswered questions. Make sure you cover who, what, where, when, why and how. What type of league does this hockey team play in? Is this the high school team for all three schools or is the team not part of regular high school hockey? Is there a benefit to having students from across three towns play together? What are the challenges? Why was this team set up this way? Were there not enough students from each of the 3 high schools to have their own team?
VIDEO: Shot of the BCL hockey banner was shaky. Always use a tripod. Nice action shots. Would have benefited story to have some tight shots of people lacing up their skates, spectators clapping, scoreboard, etc.
AUDIO: Nice use of natural sound.
EDITING: More b roll would have helped with the overall editing.
OVERALL: The writing needs to be worked on and more b roll is needed. There should be 5 seconds of b roll pad at the beginning. Also the story is too long. Can not fit into our broadcast schedule when it is any longer than 50 seconds.

DELIVERY: Clear and well spoken.
INTERVIEWS: Good person to speak to but an interview from one of the business owners would have strengthened the story.
ORIGINALITY: Newsworthy topic.
WRITING: Would have like to have heard how town people feel about the changes. Are there people opposed to the development? What benefits has Coventry seen from the development? Have people's taxes decreased? Are they excited for the convenience of the businesses?
VIDEO: Good. Nice variety. The format for the interview switched to letterbox, which was a little jarring. In addition the subject was on the wrong side of the screen giving him no talk space.
AUDIO: Audio for reporter was fine, interview sounded hollow.
EDITING: The editing was fine, with a good variety of shots.
OVERALL: Overall a solid technical effort. The writing could have been better and talking to someone from the businesses would have made it better.

DELIVERY: Good pace. Clear delivery. Stand up did not add any new information. Should be more than just a sign off.
INTERVIEWS: Good person to interview and well selected sound bite. An interview with a student commenting on the new uniforms would have added to the story.
ORIGINALITY: Ok.
WRITING: Nice job discussing the change. Good job writing into the interview.
VIDEO: Shaky shots. The video should have been shot using a tripod. In a story about student uniforms we needed to see students instead of empty halls. The principal's interview had too much headroom. There was a jump cut in one of the hallway shots.
AUDIO: Good levels.
EDITING: More b roll would have helped with overall editing. This is a school story but there was no video of students. Needed to see students, classrooms shots, maybe some tight shots of the uniforms in boxes. Think about what you are saying and the video you can use to support it. There was a good variety to the editing. However there was no lead in or lead out video.
OVERALL: A fair effort. It would have been better with students and a tripod.

DELIVERY: Reporter track is clear and well spoken.
INTERVIEWS: Good people to talk to. Nice job writing into them.
ORIGINALITY: Good.
WRITING: Well written. Nice job telling the historical significance of the highway. Would have liked to know where the highway starts and stops.
VIDEO: The highway shots are great. Well-composed, good variety. Are the historical photographs are from the conservancy used with permission to broadcast? The shot of the conservancy sign was shot without a tripod and is unsteady as a result. Both interviews are poorly framed distracting from what is otherwise an excellent story.
AUDIO: Good levels.
EDITING: The editing is fine and uses a nice variety of shots.
OVERALL: Too short. Story comes in at only 45 seconds. Needs to be 50 to fit with in our broadcast schedule. Good story idea and nice shots, but the unsteady shots and the composition of the interviews stop this from being a great story. Need to add more information to bring this to required length.

DELIVERY: Good tone and well paced. Nice to have the dog in the stand up.
INTERVIEWS: Excellent. Great sound bite. Very informative. Nice use of establishing shots.
ORIGINALITY: Excellent. Interesting and unique program.
WRITING: Nice job telling the story. Explained the program nicely.
VIDEO: Great. Very good shots. Nice mix of shots. Good lighting and color.
AUDIO: Clear and consistant levels.
EDITING: Well done. Nice job matching script to the video.
OVERALL: Very good!
