DELIVERY: Clear and easy to understand. Nice location for the stand up
INTERVIEWS: Good person to talk to but the sound bite sounded like they were reading it. The interview clips should be natural, not rehearsed or pre-written. You want to show emotion with them especially in an emotional story.
ORIGINALITY: Good.
WRITING: Well written. Nice job talking about the problem and how students were helping.
VIDEO: Video was pixilated. We cannot broadcast the story with this video quality.
AUDIO: Good levels.
EDITING: Nicely put together.
OVERALL: Good story but there is an issue with your video. It is too pixilated to air. Also, keep in mind for your next story that sound bites should sound natural not pre-written.

DELIVERY: Very good. Nice pace and tone.
INTERVIEWS: Great job getting emotional sound bite with the second interview. First bite was not introduced so it would have made more sense to use that information as part of the voiceover.
ORIGINALITY: Good.
WRITING: Very good.
VIDEO: Nice job adding stills to show the boys that passed away. Good shots of the walkers and the ribbon cutting.
AUDIO: Consistant levels.
EDITING: Flowed nicely.
OVERALL: Very good. You need to make sure you have b roll pad on the beginning of the story.

DELIVERY: Clear and easy to understand.
INTERVIEWS: Good choices of people to interview. We would have liked to hear what fun stuff the student missed out on. Important information but sound bite might not have been the best way to get it across. Make sure your interview subjects sound natural. The student's sound bite sounded a bit rehearsed.
ORIGINALITY: Great way to take a broad subject and focus on a particular part. Great subject.
WRITING: Good. Good job narrowing the focus. Why is this an issue? Why don't teachers know about problem?
VIDEO: Good job making an effort to shoot video that was meaningful to the story. Some of the video wasn't quite as natural as it could have been.
AUDIO: Good job.
EDITING: Good job. Matched up the video to the audio. Would have been good to have an establishing shot of the second interview before going to it. The stand up in the middle the reporter is wearing different clothes and has her hair different than at the end. Looks disjointed and could be seen as a different person. Do all stand up in the same clothes and hair.
OVERALL: Very good!

DELIVERY: Good delivery, but don't do a stand up in front of a brick wall.
INTERVIEWS: You didn't introduce the people being interviewed? Who were they? The man's sound bite was good. The story would have been better if the other interview was from a child saying they enjoyed being there. The woman's sound bite was ok but too long.
ORIGINALITY: Very newsworthy story.
WRITING: Not everyone knows Rockville is a school so say that at the top. Otherwise a well told story.
VIDEO: Good.
AUDIO: No issues.
EDITING: There were two jump cuts in the interview. Cover with b-roll. Besides the interview the editing was good.
OVERALL: Good job. Next time cover any jump cuts with b-roll and introduce the sound bite. There was no pad. There should be 5 seconds of B-roll pad before and after the story. You signed off by saying "Fox 61 Student News" and should be generic.

DELIVERY: Very good. Good energy and stand up.
INTERVIEWS: Good interviews. Great sound bites
ORIGINALITY: Great story idea.
WRITING: Well told. Good focus. Would have liked to hear how long the guy was in the tent. How much money was raised?
VIDEO: Both interviews were poorly angled. The United Way woman was looking sideways. The shot of the guy in the sky was way too wide. Should have been tighter on him instead of having the other 3 people in the shot too. The donation shot looked a bit blue. The story lacked tight shots.
AUDIO: Good.
EDITING: Pretty good. Nice job showing us what you are talking about. There was a glitch in the United Way interview.
OVERALL: Good story, well told and edited. Stronger video would have helped the story even more. Good sound bites! The story had no pad. There should be 5 seconds of pad at the beginning and end of the story. Also, use a generic sign off instead of "Fox 61" so that we can run the story on both stations.
