January 19 & 20 “Festival For Kids” Expands With Move To Connecticut Convention Center
December 19, 2007

HARTFORD — Children and their parents can beat winter's "cabin fever" with rows and rows of games, amusement rides, exciting booths and scores of things to do and see at the "Fox 61 Festival for Kids" on Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The popular family event has moved to a new location at the Connecticut Convention Center on 100 Columbus Ave. in Hartford, Conn. – one mile south of its former site.

"There will be continuous live stage show entertainment, more rides and more hands-on activities, as well as clothing, educational booths, information about summer camps and party planning, and the latest products and services for kids, "explains Kristie Gonsalves Harrington, President of North East Expos, Inc., the organizer of the event. "In addition, the Hartford Fire Department will host a "Smoke House", which enables children to practice how to escape a fire in a realistic home situation, and an interactive "Marine Safety" exhibit from the Connecticut State Department of Environmental Protection."

"The Fox 61 Festival for Kids is a wonderful opportunity for families to take an entertaining break from the New England winter and help a terrific cause at the same time," continues Harrington. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Fox 61 Family Fund, a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation. The Fund is dedicated to supporting programs that have a long-term, positive impact on children and youth and that strengthen Connecticut's families.
