Fox 61 News at Ten Wins 5 Emmy Awards
May 14, 2007

HARTFORD — Fox 61 WTIC-TV won more Emmy awards than all other Connecticut news organizations combined at the 30th annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards. Fox 61 News At Ten was honored with five awards by the National Television Academy at the ceremony held in Boston on Saturday.

Reporter Jim Altman took home three awards, Photographer Michael Piskorski won two and Photographer Earl Glazier and Editor Tom Carl each received one.

"These awards reflect the exceptional quality of stories we do each and every night on the Fox 61 News At Ten," said Richard Graziano, Vice President and General Manager of Fox 61. "They are especially rewarding because the competition included not only Connecticut stations, but all television stations and regional networks throughout New England."

Presented annually, the Emmy Awards honor the advancements of creative, artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. Chapter members of the National Television Academy in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Mid-America selected the winners.

Bob Rockstroh, News At Ten Director, was thrilled with the acknowledgment. "It's an honor to see our hard work recognized by our peers. Congratulations to everyone at Fox 61 who won an award or was even nominated. It's a privilege to be part of such a great news organization," he said.
