Fox 61 News at Ten Receives 15 Emmy Nominations

April 16, 2007

HARTFORD -- The National Television Academy has announced nominees for the 30th annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards. Fox 61 News at Ten has received 15 nominations, more than any other news organization in Connecticut. In addition the Fox 61 WTIC-TV and CW 20 WTXX Promotions Department received two nominations.

Richard Graziano, Vice President and General Manager of Fox 61 and CW 20, was proud of the recognition the station received. He remarked, "These Emmy nominations are another indication of the talent at Fox 61 and the great work our team does every day."

Fox 61 WTIC-TV was the only Connecticut station nominated for Best News Team Coverage. Presented annually, the Emmy Awards honor the advancements of creative, artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. Chapter members of the National Television Academy in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Mid-America will select the winners, which will be announced on May 12, 2007 in Boston.

Bob Rockstroh, News At Ten Director, was thrilled with the nominations. "It's an honor to be recognized for our great work, not only in Connecticut but throughout New England. It's a reflection of the writing, photography and storytelling that sets Fox 61 apart from the other television stations in the region," he said.

In February Fox 61 News at Ten was watched by more Connecticut viewers than any other 10 or 11 P.M. newscast. In 2006 Fox 61 News was awarded the prestigious honor by the Associated Press as Connecticut's Best Newscast and for a remarkable sixth time with the coveted Mark Twain Award for Overall Station Excellence.
